Like a tribesman placed in a major city knows not how to care for himself, without knowing our creator we too will likely perish. Why do so many reject biblical truth? The answer they haven’t meet the God of the Bible. In this series, we will see how God introduces Himself in the scriptures in hopes you too can know Him and live.
Week 1: Hello I’m Your Creator (Genesis 1:1, Acts 17:22-34)
The first verse of the Bible gives us an introduction to God that is foundational to our understanding of him. God is sovereign over our lives, appointing when and where we live all that we might seek to know him. This grand introduction to God is that we might know the one true God.
Week 2: Hello I’m God, and These are My People (Exodus 6:28-7:6)
By force, the King of Egypt attempts to keep God’s people for his treasure and possession. God’s introduction, is unforgettable, the people of Egypt receive a clear message. God’s people belong to him alone.
Week 3: Hello I’m God, and I am Holy (Isaiah 6:1-10)
Standing in the presence of God the prophet Isaiah was given a clear picture of the Holiness of God. Angel’s praising his name and crying out a testimony of God’s holiness and fame. It’s only when we see God rightly that our the magnitude of our sin is displayed.
Week 4: Hello I’m the King of the Earth (Daniel 4:28-36)
King Nebuchadnezzar attributed his success and fortune to his power and might. In arrogance, the pagan king minimizes God and is quickly given a proper introduction to the true King of Glory.
Week 5: Hello I’m the Lamb of God who Takes Away Sin (John 1:24-34)
John baptism served a greater purpose than the symbolic act of repentance and washing away sin, that purpose being, the identity of the Lamb of God who would permanently take away our sin.
